Set in the hills near Llandeilo, Garn Goch is a striking archaeological site with a past that stretches back over 2,000 years. It actually consists of two adjoining hill forts – Y Gaer Fawr and Y Gaer Fach – and is among the largest prehistoric settlements in Wales.
Visitors can walk among the vast stone ramparts that once enclosed Iron Age communities, offering a real sense of the scale and significance of this ancient stronghold. There’s no visitor centre or built infrastructure, but that’s part of its charm – Garn Goch is raw, quiet, and steeped in atmosphere.
